GreenToe - Reverse Auction Photography Site

I got this email as well. I was contemplating a new tripod, but now I'm REALLY contemplating one Might just have to take advantage of that deal.

Has anyone has a hard time starting an account on Green Toe? I keep getting "password doesn't match confirmation" and it won't accept anything I put in as a password.

Couldn't you have used the $50 off coupon? Since it's a rebate instead of a discount coupon, they might still honor the $50 if you contact them. I had an issue where I needed to change my order and they were really great about it.

They gave me the $50 coupon! So I got a Sigma 85mm 1.4 for $725. Not bad.

Bidding on a Tokina 11-16 for $511 with the $50 rebate! Wish me some luck!

Just got a Panasonic LX7 from them as well. With the $50 rebate, the price was just too good to pass up. Almost $150 cheaper than Amazon after rebate!

I just heard back on my tripod. I bid the minimum amount it would let me ($105) and was hoping for the $25 rebate to make it $80 all together. I got an email saying the vendors were balking, but they're willing to sell it at $105 as long as GreenToe gave the vendor the rebate and not me. That's totally fine with me, as I was looking to buy it at that price even before the rebate came out. It's still 50 bucks cheaper than I can find it anywhere else.

Told 'em to go ahead with it. Hopefully they can get it shipped out tomorrow. And I really appreciate the GreenToe customer service. No form letters, it's a real person sending a real email. And they seem to be going out of their way to get me a tripod for cheap. Color me impressed so far.

My offer was accepted. But now I've run into a different problem. Seems they've charged my card (a reloadable debit-type card) twice. Once back when I submitted the original offer, and once today. Anybody else experienced the duplicate charges?

Are they both real charges? I have gotten a pre-auth for the amount and then a real authorization from the actual vendor.

It might effect your credit limit in the short-term but it shouldn't result in an actual charge. If they gave you two actual charges than you should be contacting them.
