I think sharing both is frowned upon. Either, by themselves, should be fine.

I don't know about that. A bunch of people have said they had an offer accepted by a particular retailer. That practice seems to be more common than sharing the dollar amount the offer was accepted at.

In email exchanges with Andrew, after my recent purchase of a camera and lens, he SPECIFICALLY asked me NOT to share retailer info on internet forums.

^ Okay. I stand corrected. I guess he's got his reasons.

Fixed, was just trying to share my experience. Sorry if tacky.

BTW, I got the Sigma 50 Art at a similar price and was equally impressed. Lower than used. But that's the exception rather than the rule. I'm finding on average you get about a 9-10% savings over retail. Depending on what you buy, that can still mean hundreds of dollars.

That's pretty interesting. If you look back through the pages of this thread, you'll see a bunch of people saying who accepted their offers. That's the way of the internet I guess!

Andrew/GreenToe should post some clear guidelines. Until then I wouldn't really worry about it.

Reviewing the form acceptance email I got from Greentoe I see that there was a request not to share the vendor. I had only glanced at this before, as I saw my PP account email first and went off of that.

My apologies.

I'm glad you got a great price as well, it sure feels like a nice win.

How do you like the 50A?

I think GreenToe isn't a mature service. That's the bottom line.
It's a great way to get savings, but sometimes you just have to be patient...REALLY patient.
Right now, apparently my D750 shipped a few days ago. I have no tracking information. So I guess it'll get here when it gets here. You know, a camera that's worth more than $2k. That's nice eh? Haha.

If you need your gear fast, this is definitely not the way!

I'll have to use it more, especially to test the AF, but so far it looks good.
The build is great, solid IQ, and fast AF. I think looking at the Nikon offerings, this was a no-brainer. I had the 50L when I was shooting Canon.

No reason for apologies. Andrew just wants to ensure that vendors are protected and remain willing to participate with him in this venture. Every one benefits in this... vendor gets more sales.... GT gets their share...consumers get nice discounts on NEW gear.

win win win!

:)

^^^ I agree with this about no mentioning the retailer as long as we can post what the accepted offer is so we can all benefit. Then it's a win-win-win-win ;-)a :-D

:) win x 4 = :D

I don't think there is any problem sharing the accepted offers with forum members. It probably encourages more participation at GT.
