Hmm .. I did place a few orders with GT more than a month ago. Eventually 4 went through and these were good deals. Last I received cashback (these had 5% cashback) notifications for 2 of them (not all 4), asking me to confirm payment method for which I picked Paypal. But after almost 2 weeks now I have still not received the cashback, and no notification for the other 2 orders.

I hope this is just a temporary delay, maybe they have too many orders to process from the holidays (good for them!). But on the other hand, I am withholding my official reviews on the review sites until all deals are complete.

4 weeks from your purchase or 4 weeks from when they contact you to ask what method you would like for your cashback payment?

That's what I'm expecting - I'm almost 4 weeks out now.

However, HowieWu above posted that he was already over a month after the purchase when they emailed him to ask what for of payment he wanted and they still haven't paid him.

I do think they are getting busier as I used to get emailed counter-offers almost right away and it takes much longer than that now. I'm thinking it's a couple of person operation that's starting to get too big -- a good problem to have for them though.

Mind if I ask how much you paid for the 16-35 f/4?

Great question. I've got my eye on it as well.

Part of the Greentoe agreement is not to disclose your purchase price. If we told everyone the price we paid, or what counter-offers we received, there would be no incentive for the retailers to use Greentoe as they would always be getting the minimum offer prices. Your best bet is to make a reasonable offer...imagine you are the seller and think about the lowest you would sell for. It isn't a website that you are going to get a steal from, and it isn't marketed as such either. With that said, I wasn't able to find a lower price anywhere else, authorized retailer or not.

It's been 4-5 weeks since the purchase for me. I've had to ask for the rebate each time though but it's only been a day or two later that I received the money. Other than having to ask for the rebate, Greentoe has been great for me.

Last August when I made my last purchase from Greentoe I received an e-mail from them stating it would take 4-6 weeks the receive the rebate. It took the full 6 weeks, but it showed up. I do not recall reading any post where it never showed up.

Steve

Do you have a link to an agreement that states that? Greentoe did "request" that I not disclose the seller in my purchase confirmation email, but never requested, nor even mentioned not disclosing price.

The terms and conditions on the Greentoe website do not make mention of non disclosure regarding price that I can find. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Regards,
Steve

You have to understand the the Sellers are bound by MAP (minimum advertised price) agreements. I don't think the buyers are necessarily bound by these rules but ... if the manufacturers found about the sellers selling far below MAP, they may lose their dealership. So its best to keep it quiet so we all can benefit with the best below MAP pricing.

Judging by the gauge, it looks like the margin of negotiation is bigger percentage wise on bodies than lenses. Does that seem to be most people's experience?

I contacted Greentoe about the discount. I was told that they will contact the customer 4 weeks after the delivery about how the customer wants to receive the fund. Mine is almost four weeks. I am not worried and have confidence that they will do the right thing. Otherwise they would lose a lot of business from folks.
