I got the cashback rebates for all my 4 orders. I think the folks at GreenToe really want to build a good business model. I would use them again in the future.

Think you OP! I just got a KILLER deal on a 6D.... Won't say the seller but my offer of $1075 was accepted. After the $20 rebate, I'll pay $1055 for a brand new USA 6D... now off to find a lens :)

The last few offers I have made 3-5 days later no response, counter-offer or deny/accept. Recently I made a camera bag offer last Thursday I believe, no word at all yet.

I have revised my last few offers to $1 to buy it elsewhere. They used to be quick and respond within a day or two, now its a crap shoot if I ever get a reply at all. Last time, the owner of Green Toe sent me an email apologizing and that he would expedite it to someone to get me an answer. Days later, still no reply.

I used to use Green Toe quite a bit, but lately I have to think if I want to wait for a week or two to get anything. For lenses/bodies I just use Canon Price Watch now, far easier and prompt communication. About to cancel my bag offer and just buy from Amazon as I have a trip coming up.

I think it's because they've gotten so busy. When GT was relatively new, there was almost a personal touch with every offer. Now that they are more well established, along with all of the various items they represent, they are probably stretched thin.

I actually had a great experience with them recently. Purchased a Sigma 50A from a reputable retailer, but the lens had all kinds of focusing issues, so I returned it back. Andrew replied to my offer, which was $135 cheaper than the retailer's. So I went ahead and placed an order. The lens was shipped in 2 business days, and I got it later in the week. It turned out to have yet its own series of focusing issues, so I'm replacing it with the retailer (who turned out to be the same as in my first order by the way). As for GreenToe, I can say I've been successful with getting my offer accepted. This was 1 out of 5 that I've submitted over the last couple of years. I had to change the first 4 to $1's, as they were not in the ballpark of what I was looking to spend.

My advice is - shoot Andrew an email, and he can reply with his approximate quote of what he has seen gear sell for. And then you can submit a little lower offer.

Just an FYI, I've had a couple of "counter offers" come back and then 24 to 48 hours later I have my original offer accepted without ever changing it. I've learned that patience sometimes pays off with Greentoe.

I agree. Patience is key with Greentoe. For people wanting or expecting a typical retail experience there will be some frustration, because that isn't what Greentoe is about. Have the proper expectations going in, and understand that the opportunity to buy at some pretty low prices will require a bit of compromise at times.

Just ordered a Sony A6000 from greentoe. Once my bid was accepted, I received a shipping notice from the reseller in about 2 hours. So, hopefully it will be here within 3 business days or so.

If I put in a ridiculously low price like 30-40% off would I actually get a rejection or be ignored?

You don't get rejections. You either get 1 - accepted, 2- counter offered, or 3 - nothing (i.e. ignored).

You aren't going to get 30-40% off. 10-15% is normal, 20% is a huge maybe.

In my experience, it really depends on the manufacturer and sometimes even the item itself. The higher the MSRP markup, the higher the chance of you being able to get a bigger discount. So for example, if something was marked up 30%, you may only be able to get a 15% discount (the seller and GreenToe both have to make money somehow). Other products may only be marked up 10% so you wouldn't even be able to get a 10% discount.

I wonder whats the markup on Fujifilm XF lenses. The counter offer indication i received from Andrew against my offer for XF 56 1.2 is barely 8% off the price its being sold through retailers like BH and Amazon - think its good enough or should i hold on longer with hopes of 11-12% ??

Unfortunately there dont seem to be any GT coupons at this time to sweeten the deal....
