I wonder whats the markup on Fujifilm XF lenses. The counter offer indication i received from Andrew against my offer for XF 56 1.2 is barely 8% off the price its being sold through retailers like BH and Amazon - think its good enough or should i hold on longer with hopes of 11-12% ??

Unfortunately there dont seem to be any GT coupons at this time to sweeten the deal....

I raised my offer a bit and it just got accepted by an East Coast Dlr - i got a discount of 10.4% off the current street price - so that combined with the $150 instant off from Fuji is a decent saving. I hear that the instant rebates from Fuji are set to expire on March 28th (Though i am sure they will come out with another similar offer soon thereafter)

When i take into account another 1% cash back from my CC - the price is the same as being asked for used here on Buy and Sell / FM

Thanks Greentoe / Andrew

I had a great experience with greentoe. Placed an offer with a calculated 20% off on a camera body on Sunday. Was accepted on Monday early and had the camera on Wed. Would recommend and use them again for sure.

greentoe seem to target new user only. As for previous user, they just ignore it. 2 days ago, i emailed Andrew regarding about the Sony 23-135mm f/4 FE lens ($2500 value). Nothing respond back. Today, i just order it directly from Adorama. Once in awhile, i still receive email from them asking for feedback, the feedback is "RESPOND TO YOUR CUSTOMER EMAIL".

A friend of mine just accepted a $799 counter-offer on a 35A. Will post when she gets her Welcome20 rebate. Glad I can help my friends save money!

20% off of what price, MSRP? or regular lowest internet price from authorized dealer?

Placed an offer for a lens yesterday and got about 12% off MAP plus 5% cash back for st. patty's. This was my second purchase from GT and it went well. They contacted me within 24 hours with a counter offer. Now let's see how long until I get the 5% cash back.

Would def. recommend Greentoe, the staff have been great to work with and while the discount you get may not sometimes be as big as you hoped, every dollar counts.

I think you are forgetting that GT is still a small shop regardless of how much investment they have from VCs. The biggest hurdle that startups have after getting popular (aside from generating revenue) is to scale their business. I'm speculating but having been in contact directly with Andrew every time for close to a dozen purchases in the last year, I imagine it's technically a one man shop in the front office. (Edit: But every time I did submit an offer, Andrew was pretty quick to get back to me so I would have to disagree with the idea that they are targeting just new users.)

I've mentioned this before earlier in this thread but, great rule of thumb for using GreenToe is patience. If you don't have the time for that then going directly with a ready retailer like Adorama/B&H would be best use of your time.

I'm a tad bit confused about how making an offer on Greentoe and current rebates work.... Is it up to YOU to make an offer including/beyond the current 'with rebate' price--or do you make an offer and the rebate gets applied on top of your offer once it has been accepted by one of the retailers?

Here is the info direct from the Greentoe site. Hope this helps.

Do I qualify for a manufacturer rebate when I buy through Greentoe?
Yes !! You are buying the item from a manufacturer authorized retailer, so you will qualify for this rebate. It will work just the same as if you purchased the item directly on the retailer's website.

Do I need to do anything special to get the rebate?
Absolutely not. You just need to follow the instructions on the rebate form, the same way you would if you bought it directly from a retailer.

Is the price I am offering on Greentoe, before or after the rebate?
The price you offer on Greentoe is BEFORE any manufacturer rebates.
