I put in an offer on a 6D and a sigma 20mm 1.4. We'll see how this turns out.

I'll take a PM re: your 6D bidding process. Thanks.

I've never really had much success on there, I've managed to get better deals from Adorama or Amazon in many cases...maybe just me &/or what I was looking for at the time...

Timing has a lot to do with it.

If you can't get satisfaction from GT or the merchant, call your CC company. You always have recourse through them. They reversed those charges, you can bet you will here from the company then. I'd email them just to have a record that I tried to give them a chance, then the next contact would be my CC company. I wouldn't even waste my time.

I didn't realize GT reads these threads lol, but they do! They saw my message and emailed me a very reasonable resolution to my problem. Seems like them not getting/answering my messages was a hiccup which I can understand. With that in mind, I'll give GT another try however I wish there was a way to know if that particular retailer was the one accepting the "bid" so I can avoid them.

I had a pretty good experience with Greentoe. Last year, I got a 24-70 II for $1645 after rebates. If you consider, no taxes and free shipping, it was a pretty good deal!

With that in mind, I too asked if they could tell me the retailer who accepted my bid. They wouldn't, and the invoice came from the one dealer I was hoping not to get. That vendor's site has a strange return policy, "no returns on cameras or lenses more than $700". What?!

But the lens I received was brand new, the box had never been opened, the wrappers were tight and impressed with the lens features underneath, the wrappers had not been taken off and re-wrapped around the lens. The lens focus was perfect with a slight MA on one body, zero on the other. And, I've purchased items from that vendor in the past, but not an expensive lens.

I may get a lemon eventually, but I'm 2 for 2 now, and GT told me that if there is an issue with an item from a dealer with a strange return policy listed on line, that they would intercede for me. We'll see.

I just got my second GT offer accepted on a Rokinon 14mm 2.8 lens. Having just moved near the desert I'm going to try my hand at star timelapse :)

Second time using GreenToe for a major purchase (new 7DmkII - for a relative's gift). Smooth transaction, good communication, and everyone who is chipping in was very happy with the price savings on what is currently found on the larger sites. Will buy from them again! ;-)a

Waiting on the Canon 70-200L II to arrive this week. I picked it up for $1759.... pretty decent deal as they are going for $1949 on B&H.

I have a Sigma 50mm F/1.4 waiting on my decision to purchase... it's cheaper than the $799 sale B&H had a couple of weeks ago. I love B&H ..use them for everything... that being said...GT is saving me some $$$ :)
