Absolute WOW moment - my daughter, Ruby (AKA TinyTogger, aged 7) has just scored 19/20 with EACH of her images in the our Camera Club's "Red" competition!

How proud am I?

The robin, no help at all. She did use my camera though...her 400D had gone flat.

With the strawberries - in my studio. I showed her how the lights worked, and showed her a snoot, a grid, the black cloth, and the glass base. I showed her how the camera would sync with the lights at 1/200s and told her to adjust the aperture as necessary. She played around and we have a few missed shots there...

In reality, I gave her no more help than anyone might have if they go into a studio for the first time to shoot. She does her own photoshop (which for the strawberries was to drop the curves on the blacks a little, and sharpen and a small crop/straighten). Again, I may show her something new to try, and then I undo it and she does it herself - just like any teaching of a skill, really.

You could click one of the images and look at her flickr...you can see her development over the last year and a half since she got her 400d. :)

Nothing to critique. Sharp focus, great composition, and excellent PP. I'm afraid you have created a monster! :-)

Nice stuff! If you had told us that she was twice as old, she would still be way ahead of the curve!

Thank you all. Very proud, and not at all upset that she thrashed me, either. My shots only got 18/20 and 16/20.

Cheers
