Well, I'm of two minds on this one.
The obvious reaction, but perhapsn more strongly;

If we as photographers cant manage to take flattering photos of Beyoncé! Well then for christ sake we don't deserve to take photos of her. Damn.

This is a direct response to the unflattering photos that circulated after her SuperBowl appearance.

I somehow agree with this. It's not just about her, but about everything else, from sport, to politics and entertainment. Personally I don't see point of sending weird photos with funny faces etc., and I never do. Ok I shoot sport mostly, but even there I try to pick good photos not weird photos. Afterall we should have some respect for these guys.
On the other side, I also hate more and more limitations we are facing. Once we should all finally stand up and tell them to fu**k off and leave event. I would really love to see how many limitations there would be next time, when they would know their event (music, sport or anything else) wouldn't get a single second of coverage in media. But problem with this is, that there will always be at least one, who won't walk away, and then we didn't do anything.

Well SHE was the one making faces. Had to go look up the picture. Hulk-once mad.

Guess I didnt miss anything by not watching the halftime show. Do tired of these cheesey halftime "shows" featuring these "artists" who are more into trying to push the decency envelope.

I managed to snap a picture of her at the Tropicana in Havana when she attended the same evening show that I was at. It was not easy, and the picture is not particularly flattering, but it is very hard to resist taking pictures of celebraties when you get the opportunity

What a dumb move.

1: People have moved on. This is the Internet. Forget 15 minutes of fame, once 9gag and 4chan gets tired of it (average attention span: 4.7 seconds), it's old news. However, by making headlines again, she's digging up the very photos she's trying to bury.

2: Concert reviews/previews/coverage are basically free publicity for the artists (I know, I used to write them...a lot of them). I foresee many editors being miffed at this move and either not bothering with the article, or not giving it as much press as they would have or refusing to run her own photog's pictures...therefore, where she could have had a picture in a paper (free advertising) she'll have none.

I can't see any real benefits of it, but plenty of negative backlash...good luck with that, Beyonce, way to be a sore loser. There are 6.3 million flattering pictures of her on the internet and 1 or 2 nasty ones (which, still, are her)...and she gets her panties in a bunch...

Also, I just lost a little bit of respect for Getty: "Getty also reportedly removed images that weren't to the singer's liking." Since when are news organizations in the habit of letting spoiled little pop divas dictate content??!

My question is why should Beyonce be any different than all the other girls we photograph. They all want to be portrayed like the high fashion models wee see on a magazine cover,,with that perfect look,, skin smoothed, make up all done up nicely, the perfect pose, Liquefy liberally applied, skin imperfections taken out.......I mean,, we do this for our clients to hear how wonderful we are at what we do,, why should we expect less from a celebrity ??

Unfortunately, there are a lot of JERKS with cameras these days who go out of their way to sensationalize anything.....So I agree with her point of view

A matter of opinion I am sure, but I felt this was the best half time show in a long time. As someone who's job is the performing arts, Beyonce is an amazing pro, and a very good performer. Her show was flawless in all aspects, from the technical stand point ( my area of expertise ) to the individual performances of all those on stage, ( one of my areas of interest )

It was all well executed, and perfectly tuned to the event.
I can not say this about many of the recent half time shows.

Good point Mike.
Most pros that would end up with an image like that in their folder would press delete and not let it see the light of day as it reflects on the photographer to make ugly images.
