Bluebells Ready to Open

The poor wildflowers have had a tough time this year. We have had a few warm days and then it would snow. Then it warmed up again and now we are having lows in the 30 f. It has been a guessing game when or even if the flowers would bloom this year. I did find this patch of Bluebells and the plants are loaded with buds. This stage is a full 3 weeks behind last year.

Nice composition and colors. The weather has been weird all over. Out here in the southwest it's been really dry and warmer than usual. Our usual crop of poppies was sparse and stunted.

Lovely shot. They look poised to burst forth when they get suitable conditions. Old weather patterns seem to be a thing of the past in many parts of the planet... We've had a couple of false starts for autumn in my neck of the woods!
