Senior picture help please

So I was trying to take senior pictures of my daughter today. Might I add we live in the windiest city ever...grrrr. Every time we found the perfect spot or background, I couldn't shoot because her hair would blow every where. This made for the worst outing ever. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for getting around this.

Move to a non-windy city?

Okay, seriously. On days like that about all you can do is try to find a location shielded from the wind, possibly use a building as a background, a hillside, although you may have problems finding that where you live. You can try a large tree with the subject against it. Whatever you do you will have to find some sort of wind block, or try to use the wind for some creative hair flying shot. If you have to shoot in the wind, you have to adjust your preconceived ideas and look for alternatives.

Usually the wind tends to not be as much of a problem in the morning or towards evening where I live. If that's the case where you live as well than you will need to plan accordingly. Otherwise look for more secluded areas that act as natural wind blocks when out shooting. Hope this helps.
