i only have two primes. a nifty fifty thats broken and replaced by the 35 sigma ART

I have the holy trinity of L lens zoooms though covering from 16-200

i so was debating getting the 24L instead of the 16-35 but went with the zoom for more flexibility because at the time i did not have a 24-70 range covered.

Now that i do i am debating again but i so love the 16mm wide frame look!

Ditch the 16-35, pick up the 24L and samyang 14. Problem solved

I did like my 10-22mm on crop but can't justify the 16-35mm price tag for ultra wide angle.
I will be getting the 50L and consider my purchases finished for quite a while.
But my copy of the 50mm 1.4 is no slouch recently, even wide open.

^ you mean my body cap? Naw it is my go-to street lens, nice and discrete.
Eventually I'll get a helios 85 f1.5 but I am in NO RUSH, and almost every use that length, my 100L covers it.
My sig is my gear bag, sold off all my other lenses, and the 50 1.4 will sell when I get a 50L.

Indeed Nick you are correct. I literally don't carry a body cap, instead I carry that lens, and use it frequently.
I am just waiting on warmer weather here.

Figured I would post an update. I got my 50L yesterday and I like it a lot. Have not done much shooting with it yet, was busy but got a couple shots done. Just ordered an ND8 filter for this weekend.
It feels like a bullet-proof tank on the front of my 6D; guess I got too use to the 50 1.4 after a few weeks straight.

As for the original topic: I don't see myself shooting with a zoom lens again.
When I consider a 24-70L II for only-one-lens travel, I may as well look at a P&S or mirrorless options.

I like the build too. And the balance of the 50L on the 5d or 6d feels like magic. Congrats!

Congrats on the 50L. Its a really fun lens to shoot with and its part of the reason I finally parted with my 24-105.

I thought about consolidating more and dumping the 70-300 and 400 for the Tamron 150-600 but I may get the Tamron first and see how I feel about it. I'm very happy with the 2 canon Teles.

- InfiniteDivide I'm surprised you didn't consider the Sigma, seems everyone is very excited about that lens.

So you don't need a tele for anything? 85 ain't very long.
