On my way in to Whitehorse yesterday, I saw this Golden Eagle looking for its lunch from the top of a power pole. It often doesn't sit still for photographs; I feared by the time I turned around and got the camera up it would disappear. But it didn't.

The day was overcast ...

ONE

TWO - the eagle kept its eye on me even though I stayed in the car across the highway

THREE - possibly blinking? The eye has an opaque look to it

FOUR - it flew to the next pole, I followed in my car, it continued to give me the evil eye

FIVE - check that right claw!

SIX

SEVEN - then it flew away - headed too far away for more images

Good for you, Sue; the only ones I've ever seen have been a half mile up in the sky.

This eagle tends to take to the air quickly, not willing to pose. Maybe it is getting used to me though. When it took to the air, it continued circling VERY high ... too far for pictures.

I'm also seeing "my" falcons back in the area so hope to catch them within camera-range soon too!
