Can either the Yongnuo YN-560EX or the Yongnuo YN-568EX be triggered by a single flash.
I heard a rumour the YN- 560EX could be???
per the specs:-
" 4, Multiple Trigger More Supported
The YN568EX can be triggered by the camera set-top, built-in or main-controlled flashing command, S1 and S2 (pre-flash-canceled mode)."

Is it the S1 or S2 pre-flash-canceled mode - that allows this?

If so that would be a cheap way to get some additional light to augment my Bowens studio flashes, which are triggered by Bowens Pulsar triggers. i.e. when the Bowens flashes it will trigger the Yongnuo. Plus I could use it outside in ETTL II mode with the 7D optically or worth getting a set of 622C's for location work!

NB I do not want to use the 622c in the studio as we have the Pulsar radio system linked to 3 remote controlled Bowens GM500R's.

Appreciate the adjustment would be all manual.

The S1 and S2 modes of YN flashes is the simple optical trigger function. So if they have these mode then you should be good. I am pretty sure that both of these flashes do have this mode.

Thanks Dedsen,
So do you think I could use this with my studio strobes to augment them.

The pulsar Tx transmitter, mounted on the camera wirelessly triggers over radio the 3 Bowens stobes fitted with Pulsar reciever cards. Thus these can be in 3 seperate groups. Hopefully when any of these flash (on their own or together) this will fire the Yongnuos (obviously all the settings on the Yongnuos will have to be manual)
