Cropping full body shots

Im trying to do some senior pictures of young lady and I'm wondering if there is any rules as to where to crop when doing full body shots. Not sure if I'm explaining right. I have many standing full body shots, but try to crop in camera, shoul I crop above knee, below knee, at the waist? Does it matter?
