Hi All,

I have been asked to try to recover as much as I can from some severely blown out pics. I know, I know, there isn't info to be had in the whites. :( I just need suggestions/help on recovering as much as I can. It is a pic of my DIL and her pup. It's the last pics of the pup who died within half hour of these pics. They were trying to get in some last shots but the camera was left on manual and the photog wasn't a dslr user. Unfortunately, all we have is jpg.

Here is what it looks like on picasa:

Here are the actual files (pic 0313 is the picasa one): http://designdedication.com/pics/ (external link)

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid that this is the best I can do. Too bad it's not a Raw. In all the grey area there is no data at all. If you want a full resolution tiff of this poor effort you can download it here:
http://imageevent.com …&m=-1&c=2&l=0&w=4&s=0&z=9 (external link)
Because it is a tiff it is a big file, so it might take a couple minutes to download.

Edit - I just saw that the other shot is closer. I will add it in a couple minutes.

God bless you! I am downloading the pics now. :) Thank you so much for your help. I may see if I can do some work in PS to fake it a bit.

If anyone else wants to give it a try, I don't mind a bit.

told myself i will give it 20 minutes. This is the best i could do without any data. It can be done, but you have to recreate about 2/5 of the image.

Do you have a pic of just the house behind her?

I wondered if B&W would work. What you've done really helped with her hair and arms. Thanks.

Yes I do. :) I shot a few yesterday to have a reference for colors.

Here is another quick edit..... Edges are a little too rough in some areas and sharp in others to be proud of. May have time to clean them up later.

Tried to use as much of the dog from the original pic as possible. Light doesnt match either. :)
hope this helps.
