But, as a Wedding Photographer, you need a min. of 2 of everything with you in case something breaks. 2 bodies, 2 flashes, more than 2 lenses, etc. Not a goof time to start thinking "small kit." You need to tell us what body you are using, makes a difference in lens choices.

Bread and butter wedding lenses are 24-70 and 70-200. Most wedding photographers own or have owned those.

yep, 24-70 and 70-200. 2.8 only.

Very few would go out on a prime alone, unless there was another body with a zoom attached.

Would these two lenses be the only lenses in your kit? If so, I would use the 24-70mm and 50mm f/1.4. If one of these breaks or stops working, the other can shoot the rest of the wedding.

If you are asking which two lenses I would use, assuming that I do have backups, I would use my 24mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.4. Shot wide open with a large field of view, these lenses provide a lot of 'pop' that creates a 3D effect like no others. No other lens that I'm familiar with gives the look of the 24L II. Some people don't care for this look, but I love it.
