i had a hawk scare the life out of a couple of hens with young chicks.

he landed in a tree by their pen, i was 'informed' of his visit by the screaming of the Mother hens.

just had time to snap a couple of quick photos as he took off and flew away.

i had no time to 'set up' for a photo, just tripped over my dogs trying to get my camera and the right lens on. :)

photo as he took off from the tree.

the second pic is all i could salvage from the other quick pics as he flew away.

it was kinda funny how when i first saw him in the tree checking out my chicks, I clapped my hands to shoo him off, then i thought.what an idiot, get the camera! heehee

Boy, that brings back memories of my roosters running back and forth warding off hawks! The hens were always the bravest though;) Clapping hands, lol.I did that with the Ravens here, can't count how many times I clapped for those birds:lol:

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.

yes, the farmer in us kicks in first! SAVE THE FLOCK!

and you are right, the Rooster will be yelling from under cover, the hens are right out there ready to take on that Hawk.and all the chicks hide so good i could not see any of the 24. :)

i have an on going 'war' with my Ravens, my two dogs help keep them from causing to much trouble though.
