I'm considering purchasing a Yongnuo YN-568 EX and would like to know if anyone could recommend a reputable dealer. I'm a little leery of buying from China or Hong Kong.

And look for a listing where the order is fulfilled by Amazon, rather than a 3rd party seller. I'm a woman. I shoot with a Fuji X100T, Panasonic GX-7, Canon 5DmkII, and 50D. flickr stream

Yeah the wait can suck (it takes about a week for the flash to even leave chine) but I've heard of longer waits coming from amazon.

But I, on the other hand, am retired and living on a fixed income. So while it would be nice to support the Japanese economy by purchaseing all Canon products will have to make do for now. Calm down...sarcastic yes but there's a smiley on the end. Not a shot, just a quip. Lots of folks that can afford much better shoot with Yongnuo. Gripped 5D2, 24-70 f/2.8L, 70-200 f/2.8L II, 580EXII

I paid 95 shipped for a 468ex II to give you an idea of price difference. 5Diii:Tamron 24-70 f2.8:Tamron 70-200 f2.8 G2

gonzogolf dumb remark memorialized More info | Apr 30, 2013 10:43 | #8 In addition to the shorter shipping time, the wait to get something from China can be taxing, the other reason is if you have a warrantied repair. Many who purchased YN products before you could find them from US vendors found the cost of return shipping for a repair/replacement too much of a burden given the delay and cost.

Of course, it'll cost you about $25 more than buying from, say, thephotogadget ![]() mcoomer wrote in post #15882419 Calm down...sarcastic yes but there's a smiley on the end. A shot is a shot and a simple smiley might have been appropriate if there was some sort of prior, ongoing realtionship.

inkista Senior Member 700 posts Likes: 95 Joined Oct 2007 Location: San Diego, CA, USA More info | It wasn't a shot. It was simple logic. if someone is willing to go with cheap Chinese build and save $50-$60 over a 430EXII to get a YN-568EX (the 568 is NOT an equivalent to a 580EXII or 600EX-RT. It does not have as much power, it does not have master capability, it does not have a thyristor mode), then simple logic dictates that someone that thrifty might also balk over the extra $25 it's going to cost not to buy from China. You may also want to take note, I answered the OP's question with decent information and a lead to a reputable seller in China. It is only on the internet that people feel fully justified in kicking in the teeth of a volunteer who answered their question quickly and accurately, but not politely enough for their tastes. mccoomer: thanks. The accurate translation was also much appreciated. OP: thanks for the apology. It wasn't required (as I've been in online 'net wars since the mid '80s and know how things get misread), but it was appreciated. I have had many a day where I wonder why the hell I even bother answering questions on messageboards. If someone is gracious enough to acknowledge I'm a human being, too, it goes a long way towards reminding me why I do it. And there is absolutely no reason to be ashamed about spending reasonably. I was cheap enough to order my YN-568EX from China. But I also have the experience of owning a YN-560 that I purchased through Amazon, and multiple YN triggers that came from China to shore up my confidence. Thanks again inkista, like I said, it was a little early in the morning that I read your reply and I hadn't had my full intake of caffine.
