Strap/Harness recommendations for two cameras

I am looking to purchase a strap or harness of some sort to hold two complete body/lens combinations with quick shooting access to each camera. I'm not sure I love the one that has a screw in fitting into the tripod socket.

On a side note, I thought I saw a photog once that had a harness that he wore and the cameras had an adapter that merely hooked into the harness without having a strap connected to it. Again I'm not that keen on the fact that the adapter screwed into the tripod socket but it looked like it gave maximum flexibility of picking up the camera, taking the shot, and returning it to the harness without any straps. Curious if anyone might know what that was.

I highly recommend the Black Rapid DR-1 double shoulder harness. I carry 2 gripped cameras with long lenses and have zero neck or shoulder pain over several day events.
I use the supplied FR-3 screw-in "Fastenr" to the tripod mount on the lens body and everything balances and hangs very nicely. Someone in another thread suggested an OpTech Utility Loop Connector (http://www.amazon.com …o09_s00_i00?ie=​UTF8&psc=1) instead which would hang the camera by the strap mount. I wouldn't be comfortable with that but it probably works well.
Disclaimer: My Black Rapid items were supplied to me at no cost in return for reviewing the product. That aside I think it is a truly awesome system, very well thought out and the only drawback is the relatively high cost. Like anything else you get what you pay for.

I wish I had mine a long time ago - could have saved myself a lot of pain and avoided a lot of slipping straps and close calls.

I'm going to go against the grain on this one. The blackrapid is certainly a popular one and I own 2 of the single straps with the strap that makes it a double and I own the double strap unit. To me the Blackrapids are uncomfortable, the straps slide around and don't stay put, ymmv.

I got a Holdfast strap system and talk about comfortable and because of the design it doesn't slide around. I'm not using the tripod socket for attachment either as I have L brackets from RRS for my cameras I'm using RRS's AS adapters with a BosTail for secondary attachment redundancy. Fair warning though, the Holdfast and RRS stuff is pricey.

Hmmm considering getting the DR-1 now. Currently, I'm rocking two Glide Straps from C-Loop. Not the most elegant contraption though.

takes a wedding or 2 to get used to - had lower back pain after 1... but once your body is used to it, its almost not noticeable....

Another vote for the BR double - i love mine
Although i have found the spyder holster works better for me and my way of shooting
But they do both work together, which is awesome for working around water, at height or where i need to switch cameras rapidly

Hahaha...I love that and i agree with it too!

Been using the BR double for about 4 yrs now, but considering giving the spider system a try. Kind of tired of the cameras swinging around.

Cotton carrier works well and is secure. I picked up an opteka knock off to see if it was any good but yet to try.

Really surprised no one has recommended the Op-Tech dual. Doesn't use tripod socket and is a very comfortable harness.
