As far as the layout, etc goes I like #3 the best; but, honestly, while I like the colors here I don't think this is really one of your strongest images, Jay. It might speak to B-17 enthusiasts, but maybe you have other B-17 images with a higher, overall impact?

I seem to be in the minority, but I like the font on pic 2 better. For some reason the dropped numbers on the first font really annoy me. Otherwise, I don't think there is really that much difference between the two fonts. I definitely like the layout style of 2 better, as most of the replies indicate. I also think the quotes are appropriate, though maybe not necessary, as it is an often quoted saying. I doubt anyone remembers where it originally came from, but I'm sure everyone recognizes it. Overall, I think it's a great idea Jay and a super picture to start with.

Had to start somewhere. ;)

I have "better" I guess but this one is just different enough to stand on it's own I think. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

I like the P38 even better than the B17, which is great anyway. As long as your target market is Aviation enthusiasts, not photographers then things like the differences in wb in the B17 shot are not going to matter. It's going to sell based on content, as long as it isn't OTT and looks "right" then I think it will be fine.

Thanks guys.

The format was really the key. Now I just have to make sure the "filler" is appealing.

Call me an average photos viewer then. :-)

I'm still up in the air (no pun intended) about the quotation marks. I think it's impled that UNTIL THEY ALL COME HOME is the title of the photo. Unless it's a specific quote spoken by a B-17 pilot that holds some significance I would be inclined to remove them.

I second this.

I know I'm late here, but I would have gone without the quotation marks. How many book titles do you see in quotations on the front cover?

Can you flip the framing colour to black and the text to white?

I agree.. and as cliched as white on black is, it does give better isolation than a white background...

Interesting idea, and I may play with it, but I think I'd prefer to stay consistent through the entire series.

Hi Jay, I like the font in number 3, but I don't care for the "17" in B-17G sitting lower than the rest of the designation. Just my two cents.
