Hey, gang!
I've been "stuck" in a home with no Internet connection, which sucks since the Internet has been an integral part of my life for over 20 years...
And so, I have my photo workstation set up, but without the Internet there is no POTN, no PBase "host" site, heck, not even Facebook!
So there I sit, but at some point it dawned on me...when I opened Lightroom just to "look" maybe a week ago, I realized that I had thousands of photos, most from last year, that I had either not completely processed and "organized", or a lot that I had taken and barely touched at all, since my life "priorities" have been rapidly "shuffling" over the past, well, bunch of time!
So, the good news is that without the Internet (at home) the one really useful thing I could do with my computer is tackle those photos! Over 4,000 shots lacked any keywords or other "organizational" things, none of them had been moved to my "library" external drive or been backed up to my backup external drive, all "accidents waiting to happen"!
Fortunately Lightroom is very nifty in so many ways, I've been able to wade through all of last year's photos and deal not just with those "housekeeping" tasks but also could handle edits pretty quickly and efficiently, since a whole lot of what I shot were events that I could quickly batch process and then just tweak individual shots as needed!
And then, a bit of recent good news -- I found that the local libraries support laptops and provide WiFi, so here I sit at the library with my laptop (and a backpack full of "accessories")!
. I recently lived in an area where the only internet I had was slow slow slow satellite internet. Made it unbearable to try and be on the forums or do anything else. Gave me lots of time to work on photos too. Forced me off of here and I got to shoot a lot more
. At least you can go down the the library and get your POTN fix :P
!
