However, I shot it in portrait orientation, but my video output was landscape...so I need to rotate it 90 degrees CCW.

You will either have to do major cropping, which will lose far too much of the photo, or have what is called 'pillar boxes' which are black boxes on both sides of the screen and a very small image.

There are a few programs available for download, but I'd like to get some recommendations...and Windows Movie Maker did it for me, but wants to save it in its proprietary format instead of the AVI it is to start out with...
