I have a small bag that barely fits 2 lightstands and a couple of umbrellas. While I like the bag, it's a bit too small.
I was looking for various, yet inexpensive solutions and ran into this photo lighting bag (external link).

Any thoughts?

I use a nylon golf travel bag that has small wheels. I'm able to pack background, background stands, strobes, light stands, umbrellas, tripod, power cords, tape, collapsable softbox etc

I have one of those cheap cases... and I have one of these: http://www.prophotographygear.com …g-hard-cases-l-p-233.html (external link)

That hard(ish) case with wheels works great... 4 bees, 2 VMLs, bunck of umbrellas, cords, cases full of PW stuff.... already thinking of going up a size...

That one looks very nice. If you're going up in size, are you selling yours? ;)

yup, I would... but I dunno how economical it would be to ship it out to you!

I have (2) Standbaggers: standbagger.com (external link)

I don't know your budget so this might not be as cheap as you would like but I love both of mine.

EDIT: I wanted to add that I have the original version(s). I like the idea that all of my stands and equipment have their own pockets. The Grab 'N Go bags only have one large main area - not separate pockets.

Those are very inexpensive bags made with cheap materials and zippers..... Just so long as you don't over load it with equipment, then it probably won't tear and will probably last you a couple of years. But over time, the zippers will definitely break and be worthless..... I purchased one similar to that and it tore after the first couple of uses (trying to carry six 8-10 foot light stands in them) and although all six stands fit in the bag EASILY (I could have probably put another 2-3 in there), the cheap material is the real issue. The bag I had, had enough capacity to carry all my equipment needs, plus some, but the material was just crappy.....

Now I use the thick and padded Lightware Bags and Cases......

It wouldn't be at all. I checked Canada Post rates - it totally isn't worth it. Thank you though.

It's a bit over my budget, but thanks for the link. I'll keep them in mind when my need arises. I like the design - simple and effective.

I bought a promaster tripod bag, and it fits 2 stands in it nicely. Then I have an Elinchrom soft bag for lights. Then I also have to carry batteries... none of this is a nice compact package.

What problem are you trying to solve? taking gear to another inside location, or taking gear to an outside location? Anything with wheels is nice if the terrain is nice. Wheels don't do much on sand, or water, or mud.

What kind of budget are you working with and what kind of lighting equipment are you looking to carry (other than stands)? Adorama has quite a range of bags for stands : http://www.adorama.com …at3=Light%20Stand%20Cases (external link)

I keep all of my lights, reflectors, softboxes, umbrellas, barndoors, gels, cables, etc. in a 50 gallon Stanley workbox that I got from Lowes. It costs $50 and has wheels. You can stand on it or use the two 2x4 tracks to make a rack to hold your light stands on top.
You can get an idea for what it looks like in this picture:

granted that might be bigger than what you're looking for ;)

This is pretty cool idea. I need to be able to transport to a location a few lightstands, lights, modifiers, cables, etc. Not too much though.
I wanted to stay within $50-60 price range.

I'm mostly doing another indoor location (or very nice outdoor location). For anything involving sand, water, snow, ice, lava, etc., I have a small carry-on bag to fit the essentials. :)

I have read people using baseball bat bags for this. I'm currently using an oversized Domke tripod bag that just gets everything in. When I get my 3rd light stand that will be it for that bag.
