Are the Epson printer still the best compare to canon?

Without going over 700-800 bucks. What's the best out there? I'll probably be reaching my old Canon 9000 soon.

Never used a Canon, but very impressed with our Epson R2000. Head & shoulders over the R1800 it replaced, will handle 13x19, also will spray a clear gloss coat over the ink, helping reduce gloss differential & eliminating the need for laminating or frame glass. Clogs far less than the R1800 & R800 before it.

Jared is selling me on this one, might not be the best printer at the moment but it does fit in your budget

Probably something along the lines of the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF9400.

Costco, Mpix are the two photoprinters I use. Where else can I get access to $100,000 worth of printer hardware for $3 for A3 sized print and $0.13 for A6 prints. Just another option. Much higher quality prints for much less hassle and cost.

I too follow this strategy. It keeps me from having to deal with printer calibration, replacing ink cartridges, and buying/storing various papers.

I use manual exposure settings on the copy machine

Certainly I would not advise anyone to buy a printer to save money.

But if you are a little old school and consider the print your 'real' product and want as much control as possible, it is worth it. It doesn't have to be a complete hassle, but expect to take time on each print if you are a perfectionist.

I have a 9500II which might be a few years old, effectively bought it for $400 but I got the Canon because I heard of issues with Epsom's clogging if not used often, particularly in dry climates. I keep it under a plastic cover with a cup of water - so far so good when left for as long as 3 weeks.

I would bet the latest version of this printer would be pretty darn decent.

You'll have to pry my 9000 MkI from cold, dead hands.

Love It!

Nothing makes 12x18 and smaller!

What do you guys think about the PIXMA PRO-100?

After rebate, you can get it and a 50 pack of Canon Semi-Gloss 13x19 paper for $389 shipped to your door from B&H. A $300 AMEX card rebate makes it an $89 deal.

https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1297996

I know it isn't ideal for volume printing, but for the convenience of being able to kick out a quality print of up to 13x19 to a relative or even a casual client it seems to be a good entry-level big-print setup?

Is the 100 the replacement from the 9000mkII?

I have been happy with my mkII.

Yes, the PRO-100 is the replacement for the Pro 9000.
Reviews are amazing for it too.

Get in on this amazing deal!

I switched from Epson to Canon back in 2003 and have been happy ever since. My circa 2003 Canon i9100, the great grandaddy of the the pro-100, still works perfectly today.

I never had an Epson that lasted more than two years.

I bought the Pro-100 a couple of weeks ago when the net cost was $144 but jumped on the new B&H deal for $89 after rebate. I figured the ink will cost more and now I have another pack of paper and another printer as aback up.
