When i would upload a named folder before on lightroom the name of that folder would appear in the library section on the left in lightroom, however now, its not there. Any idea how i can get folder names and library names back?

What do you mean: what does happen?

What settings in the import dialog? Are you using "add" or "move" or "copy"? If either of the latter two: what naming template?

One of the little improvements in LR5. If you import new files to a folder that is open in Library or synchronize-import while in a folder in the Library, it stays in the folder instead of flipping over to Current Import.
