Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM for $750?

After watching the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Lens sample thread for a while, I've decided to pick it up. I asked for price from a reputable dealer who is in another city and he gave me $750 for the new one. I'm in Pakistan and I always check b&H / amazon etc for price first and it's listed $899 all over.

I asked my friend to call him and ask for price a week later, same $750. I'm confused now, yes, I did a background check on his, he's Okay, never been a part of any scam/bull*. Did the prices decrease for this lens or what? Should I go ahead and buy?

This is the price in Pakistan? Are there other local dealers there you can compare to? Sounds like an incredible deal if it's all legit. Prices haven't come down that I'm aware of.

Yes Night, it was my first inquiry. The prices of "good" lenses are low because most of them (me?) are hobbyists and are happy with their crops so less market. Pro's don't sell their lenses much because they have almost everything (a friend recently bought Nikon 600 mm F4 VR II). I bought my 24-105 for $550 (in immaculate condition) and 135mm f/2L for $680 used.

I asked one more guy (my main dealer) - funny thing, he never order it from Sigma since no one asked for it except me - another guy will let me know in a day though whom I told that I've been already quoted $750 for it so he can't quote me high anyway (showed him written proof).

Thats so cheap you could almost buy in bulk and keep flipping them for $850 new and make an easy $100 before shipping.

So it's a yes? I think I'll ask him to send me a picture of the lens first (boxed) and then buy.

In Hong Kong they were selling for ~$800 from very a reputable store when I bought mine. $750 isn't too far out, especially if its grey import.
