Yeah, I believe it's f/2 (it's on a Nikon-mount Zeiss, so it doesn't record aperture). I like where it's focused because the first thing I notice with the flower is in-focus.

I wanted it bright because it was a beautiful, sunny day. YMMV.

(By the way, I'm not offering excuses, but stating the ideas behind what I did.)

Bright and harsh are two different beings.You can still capture the color brightness of the flower without having the entire frame bright.

the main tulip gets lost in the background tulips. try and isolate it a bit more.

It's too close for me, and a bit of focus adjustment would draw your eye to the main flower.

Maybe try again at a different angle so the tulip head doesn't line up with the ones in the background? That will create more separation and interest. Also, lower your vibrance a smudge and you will be golden!
