1D MK 4 or 7D MK 2 ?

Do you think I should get a 1D MK 4 now to replace my 7D or wait till the 7dMK 2 comes out? Noise is the issue with me, do you think the 7d mk2 will be on a par with the 1dmk 4with regard to noise levels ? I need the 1.3 or 1.6 crop factor for wildlife.

Hard to give an opinion of a camera that hasn't even been announced yet.

probably when 70D is announced and out for sale, then we can finally await 7DII's announcement. not seeing this happening anytime soon. go for 1D4, its still an awesome dslr..

and you actually expect crops having the same ISO capabilities as -H and FF? as people are saying, makers more or less have hit the wall with what they can do with crop sensors. ASH-H is still ok, 1.3 factor gives you that great compromise imho

Normally not higher than 800 ISO . Its often a real challenge hand held in the west coast of Scotland with low light being the norm

The current 7D performs very well at ISO up to 1600 and with LR4 or some other noise reduction tool, you can get excellent results. Having said that, one would expect the 7DII to be at least that good.

I would go for the 1Dmk4 it would still probably be better image quality than a 7D mk2. Never liked using the 7D for wildlife above 1000 ISO always thought that was the cameras achilles heel.

Thanks for the reply. I agree 1000 is the max for me on a 7D and only then if its almost uncropped. Will go for the 1dmk4 I think
