So any old SLR can be traded in? I thought only the current model like a broken 5dmk3 for a 5dmk3. Not a 20d for a 5dmk3??

Any Canon camera can be traded in: film or digital, working or not.

ptcanon3ti wrote in post #15903425 (external link)
did you call them? Or do it via the web?

CLP is over the phone only. No web sales.

Any canon digital camera. You can trade in an old P&S camera. Does not even have to be an SLR.

It does not have to be digital, just has to be Canon.

I also got the 5D3 through CLP last week.

Mine came with 2,349 shutter actuations and looks brand new. Can't beat the price!

I'm extremely happy with it :)

Is the price the same for the 5D3 no matter what camera you trade in? Or is it a pro-rated system?

SAME PRICE! It does not matter what Canon camera, that is now out of warrentee, you turn in.
If the camera is worth a lot you should probably sell it "as is, for parts" or have it repaired and buy an old film point and shoot to turn in.

Ok it's 20%. I was hoping it's 15% plus the addition savings you'll get with the CLP program.

On the 5D3 the CLP discount is 15%.

If you call Canon about the CLP, Be sure to ask what lenses are also available if you buy a camera. You might be able to get a good lens for a good discount. Usually have to buy a camera to get the discounted price on the lens.

How long did it take to get yours?

About 5 business days. It was shipped on April 26 and I received it on May 2nd. It was shipped Fed Ex Ground from Illinois (I'm in California).
