The twin to your bridge is right here in my hometown! Hasn't been raised since I was a kid. Where is this one?

Tonawanda, NY. This might be the exact bridge you speak of. I don't think it's in service, though I'm not originally from this area.

It is the same bridge- you'll find a phot or two on Google Earth. Grew up just around the corner from there, and probably spent time on every part of that structure. Never took a phot of it, that I recall. Nice shot on a beautiful day. You did well.

Thanks! I haven't gotten close enough to climb up yet, but I want to for sure.

Hi, Chubby one! I am a newbie as well, so take whatever I say with that in mind. They all seem crisp and in focus. I like the colors in the 2 one a lot! I would maybe crop out the church to the right. It seems a little distracting. I hope you have fun with your new hobby =)

I think you could put a little brightness in the whites of the flowers in #1.
The bridge is a great subject but I think you need to work some angles to avoid distracting foreground objects. Maybe shoot it in the evening or morning for some more dramatic lighting.
Nice start.

Thanks! I agree with the bridge, I want to revisit it for sure, it's only a short bike ride from my house.

How do I brighten the flowers in #1? I have LR4 and really only know how to move the basic sliders around to what pleases my eye at this point.

Thanks for the input everyone!

I don't use LR so I can't advise; but there's a way to selectively brighten using Canon's Camera Raw tool then you could use that if you shoot raw.

This Book:

It should be much less from B&N on line than in the store. I paid almost 40% less, and no, I did not get a good explaination at the store. BUT_ a lot of incredibly good information about lightroom.
