I think it's contagious

The photography thing, that is. My daughter has already asked for her own camera for Christmas. This is my 30D she got a hold of. Not a bad fit.

Cool! SLRs are pretty heavy for young kids. My then 7 year old was also wanting a camera. I got him a superzoom, the Canon SX50HS. It is great and he has a wonderful time with it. It is really light and he gets a kick out of the fact that his camera can do 1200mm zoom, while Dad's camera can only manage 400mm..

It's always good when you can one-up the parents.

I'm thinking a nice p&s, too. She specified she wants a red one. Girl knows what she wants.

My son has my old XT. I told him when he gets old enough, he can second for me for weddings

Both of my kids are into photoography also. My 8 year old plays with my 30D in the house but had a point and shoot but it took a fall (not even her fault) and failed so i've let her take my amature point and shot.

My son, age 6 had the fisher price camera up until this morning when he was given a blue Canon a2600 as a good starter. He had the entire camera figured out in 5 minutes. Kids these days and electronics!

No kidding - my 3 yo son can navigate a computer like a pro. He has the fisher price camera, too (a hand-me-down from my oldest) and it's still truckin'.

My oldest, almost 9, is wanting a video camera, too. I think he has a genuine interest in film making. It wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if he decided he wanted to be some great producer/director one day.

Everything is great on this, just wish we could see more of her face!

Thank you. It was my first attempt at using flash for fill and honestly it was a quick unexpected snap of her. But I thought it was cute.

Having redheads myself, really like the image. Hair color rendition is excellent. Cute subject and the bokeh is nicely done as well.

Nice! My 4 year old always wants to use my camera. I gave her a toy camera, but she complained it didn't take good pictures. I could see her thinking and framing (sometimes) so I got her and her younger sister (more to mitigate some fights) A3400's. They were cheap and work out decent. I wish they didn't have touch screens though. They don't even know they are changing settings.
