Canon Store takes awhile to ship

Ordered a refurb lens on 5/5. Still does not show as shipping or when schd as of 15 min ago. Anyone have experience on how long Canon takes to ship something

I have placed 3 orders with Canon in the last month. All shipped the following business day.

um... you ordered on a sunday. it's only Tuesday. perfectly resonable.


lots of shipping complaints in the forum recently.

I have not found them to ship the next day. In my case, usually 3 days or so goes by.

Never bothered me, and they are not even Orthodox.

I too am amazed at how people have recently become so reliant on next day shipping.

It's the morning of the second business day and you are already posting a complaint for millions to read on the internet?

It seems like some of us stand in front of the microwave and try to hurry it up.

I have to say, however, that I do miss being able to head to a great camera shop and buy something, walk out and use it a few minutes later. The nearest shop to me is 2.5 hours. I don't consider Worst Buy to be a viable camera store.

you're not missing out on much. my local camera stores charge close to MSRP.
I don't know how they stay in business.

If this is your first order through Canon, I'd advise you to call them. They are known to hold orders with new customers to the Canon store until they contact you to verify your order. Why wait on them to call you when you can contact them first.

First order and flagged orders (they have a system in place which I dont think makes sense) can take a little longer. Make sure they did not leave a voice mail on the phone number you gave telling you to call their confirmation department. Otherwise, 2 business days is not unusal

Ditto, the last Camera store with ANY inventory in RI just closed it's doors.
I went there and it was closed, they had a billboard across the street of the closed store pointing to there other 'tiny" location, so I assumed they might have consolidated..

No such luck, the other store is open, but still tiny. Absolutely nothing I can use in there, and the smallest selection of bags.
Plenty of boxed P&S and some low end lenses, cheesy plastic tripods etc..

Do you know how impossible it is to buy a camera bag without stuffing your gear in it?

It might depend on what you order, where you live, or maybe they have multiple warehouses with different shipping times. I ordered around 1:00 pm yesterday and had a shipment notification by 8:00 pm.

5/5 was a Sunday...so it may take an extra day or so.

No kiddin'. I have a Tenba Shootout Medium. It holds everything I own at the moment but it so uncomfortable to use I'll have to replace it eventually. It would be so nice to be able to try out a loaded bag before purchase.

Wasn't complaining just asking what normal turnaround time is. Yes first order
