Hi, I have the color-checker passport without the Grey card, just has the white balance target so how do I take an ambient light reading for Grey to set up calibration for the meter to camera?
I do have another make of a Grey target would there be a great difference if I used that or should I put the meter as close as possible to the Grey patch on the front of the CCP?
Thanks in advance
Russ

Many Thanks,
Russell.

Hi, Thanks for the reply but they don't, only the newer version has the Grey card, on the older versions there is a white balance target and a place to put the owners name, date of purchase etc.
there is a small Grey square on the front of the card on the bottom but I am not sure if it is big enough to get an accurate ambient light reading to use in calibration of the Meter to camera.
Thanks again
Russ

Many Thanks,
Russell.

I don't use the separate WB target with mine, I start with using the gray patch next to the white patch in the row that goes from white to black.

Hi, This is the best photo I could get for the new special edition X-Rite-Sekonic ColorChecker Passport
As can be seen they have added a Grey target and this is what you apparantly need to calibrate Meter to camera.
Thanks again.

Russell, I've calibrated all 3 of my bodies and 7 lenses without using the special WB target, even though I have it available.
