So i currently have ;
3 B800s
1 B1600

I want to shoot a water balloon exploding, and i know that the flash duration is too slow on any of the above lights.

I want to shoot a product on the ballon as it explodes so if i had one Einstein to light the ballon exploding then two B800s to light the product. Do you think it would still light the exploding water correctly?

or should i just get 2 Einsteins?

The longer flash duration of the Bs is going to cause ghosting at the least.

You'll have to use all E640s and at relatively low power settings.

Buff has the durations on the website, I think I did some stuff at about 1/16th power that was sharp.

When your profession requires you to have tools to complete your job you figure out how to acquire them or you find another profession ;)

That said, I don't know if taking picture of balloons popping is part of said requirement... but it could be!

I use manual exposure settings on the copy machine

You professionally photograph exploding balloons? Where do I sign up!? :lol:

All kidding aside, congrats. I only have one E640 with a Cyber Commander and it's awesome!

and since no one else posted (but you get inconsistent color)
Flash Duration (t.1) - in Action Mode from 1/588 to 1/13,500 second

consistent color
Flash Duration (t.1) - in Color Mode from 1/588 to 1/8,000 second

If you see ghosting from the Einstiens there are other options, like Broncolor (you can rent them at most places because they are $$$$$$)
