T4i Auto Exposure Bracketing issue

Hello,

My T4i is jumping to Automatic Exposure Bracketing on its own. I can't figure out how to permanently set it so it doesn't bracket. Everything I found on the web says it should reset it when you pull the battery, memory card, power off , etc. But that isn't the case. And I'm definitely not setting it to AEB on my own.

I called Canon today and they told me to send it in. They did no troubleshooting. I would like to avoid sending it to them if at all possible. Should I be running some sort of firmware update?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Many models have a custom function where you can set if turning the camera off will cancel bracketing or not. I don't know if your's have that too - look in the manual.

T4i doesn't have that custom function, it should reset to off when the camera's main switch is turned to off. Are you sure that it's actually bracketing the exposures and not just continuously firing?

Does it do it in auto mode? P mode, av mode, or manual? Check the drive mode see if its in single or continuous.

Do you have the camera set in either HDR Backlight Control (3 shots) or Handheld Night Scene (4 shots) mode?
