ACR in the new CC mode has some distinctly awesome changes.

My question is this going to be part of the offering of LR5?

Read the list and compare it to those proposed for ACR in CC http://blogs.adobe.com …5-beta-now-available.html (external link)

Personally I can't imagine that they would turn Lightroom into a cut down version of ACR. Photoshop is both a full RAW development package and a full digital image processing package. As a photographer I do at least 99.999% of my work in Lightroom on RAW files (I have used PSE once in the last year). I simply couldn't justify paying for Photoshop just to get access to the full version of ACR. If Lightroom was allowed to fall behind ACR it would open the door for other RAW processing packages to overtake it and steal away the existing Lightroom customer base.

I don't see any mention in that blog page of either ACR8 or PSCS7 from the cloud. It is entirely a description of LR5 Beta and therefore does not answer the OP's question, "will it have the same features as ACR in the new CC mode?" But, having said that "ACR in the new CC mode has some distinctly awesome changes," (a reference to information that I haven't seen) - presumably features that are not in LR5 Beta - perhaps pblarge can cite a source.

Looks like that enhanced smart sharpening reduce noise is exactly the same as the masking in detail panel for both LR and CS6. Now they added it for output sharpening. A great feature for capture sharpening so I can imagine it will just as good for output sharpening. Good thing I have my Really Smart Sharpening method for output.

I assumed he had already looked at the list of CC ACR features and was asking if LR5 would have the same. It hadn't occurred to me that he hadn't even bothered to do that.

I had looked in both, but was not sure if the different sites were including or excluding some of the features.

A quick glance, and it looks like there are differences. I will search the blogs to see what I can find.
