Hello Performing Arts. I used to post here a lot, and was a photographer specializing in Performing Arts. I was in an automobile accident which left me unable to shoot for over a year. Unfortunately in that time I lost almost all of my contracts/contacts/placements, so I have to start from scratch. Anyways, I shot a band locally in Somerville, MA at a bar called PA's lounge. There was little to no light, and all of these were shot at ISO 12,800 at F2.0 or less. Let me know what you think! Most of the shots were of the singer, as he was the only one in the light, and the only one who was really animated.

Man that body handles high ISO so well. Love the black and whites.

Wow, #1 is absolute genius! Love it! I'm also digging #4 and #7. The others have a strange texture I think, I'm also not a big fan of hair completely covering the faces.

#1 and 7 for me.
ISO 12.800? Wow.
Not so much the lack of noise: I'm amazed the AF kept on functioning well.

Thank you. This was really the first time I got to test out the 5D3, I got it right before I hurt myself last year.

Many thanks. I agree -- not a fan of the hair in the face look either, but those members of the band had performence anxiety, so they like to pretend nobody can see them. The lead singer on the other hand, was very animated. There's a lot more pics of him over here http://www.coppatopphotos.com/p1022761424 (external link)

It didn't miss a beat. I used the 35L and the Siggy 85 1.4. Not sure if it was a function of the lenses, or body, but I was impressed nonetheless.

Also, I re-uploaded the images in a smaller size, sorry about that!

welcome back! You picked a serious challenge for a return shoot, and no more rock and roll place that PA's.

#7 is a seriously great shot. Amazing singer positioning, and great blur in the background.

yeah #1 is real nice. welcome back, sorry to hear of your accident.

PA's used to be a decent place for bounced flash but then they painted their ceiling black. i actually haven't been in that place since they took the wall down between the two rooms.

Number 2 is great man!

Not a fan of the processing on 6 tho, but it's nice to try different things from time to time :)
