Wean Hean @ ((szene)) Vienna

As part of the "wean hean" (ask someone from Vienna to help you pronounce it) festival all around the city, a cover contest for hip hop versions of old Vienna songs was held at ((szene)). I was asked to shoot it and wasn't sure what to expect but I must say it was pretty awesome. Each group performed 2 of their own songs and then their cover song. The lyrics were cool and really showed Viennese youth in touch with the city and also that the old songs hold true today as well - they capture a great timeless picture of the place I love to live in! The winner of the evening was Esref, a Turkish Austrian rapper who combines the cultures incredibly well! Full photoset on my site and Facebook as can be expected...

#2 doesn't work that well for me, but I like #3 and 4 (even though she looks a bit uncomfortable).

Thanks Rene. I do a shot like #2 after most sets when I have stage access, the bands seem to like it. But I can see how it doesn't tickle a photographer's fancy with the split toning... #4 that's just the way she danced...

On a different note, I realize now that the pictures are too big for forum rules. Is there a way of resizing the image to display if the original is too large (other than the obvious resize and upload)? I upload my web images at 1600px on the long edge on my site and Facebook and would like to avoid making a different version for the forum.

Currently not. But maybe you could post the thumbnail here, as a link to the 1600 px original (assuming you're using thumbs)?
