I'm looking for a chandelier - I saw this one on a TV show and took a screen cap. This is the style I'm looking for:

I'm hoping to get something similar, that is at least 40" in diameter. Any ideas?

Build yourself?

Looks like you just need some metal rings, a lighting fixture and some translucent white material (paper for example).

If you use LEDs you can possibly build something quite impressive (plus they will not use a lot of electricity nor generate the temperature of an incandescent light bulb.)

That's no doubt a custom design. Closest on a search:

I'm not skilled nor inclined to build myself, but would have no problem commissioning one. I'm willing to pay quite a bit as these size chandeliers usually cost well over $1000.

Thanks, Savoir - that looks promising.

In that case, try looking for the nearest lighting shop. I'm sure they could help you.

Savior - that item you linked, I contacted the vendor. At 1.5m in diameter, it's nearly perfect, it's LED so that's great, and the cost isn't so bad, at $720. The downside is that it's from China and shipping an 80kg item costs $1350.

I'd be okay buying it from a local business at that price since I would have recourse if it didn't work out, but in this case I'm weary. Man if shipping were like, $100 it'd be no problem, but that seems really steep.

Check here (external link), they have a huge selection and they're in the states I believe, so shipping shouldnt be too bad.
