We planted a milkweed flower on purpose near our pond to attract Monarch butterflies. It seems to be working:

The caterpillars (two different ones) were shot with my T3i and 100mm macro with external flash, whereas the butterfly shots were with the T3i and 100-400L (at 400mm). Different days, but the caterpillars were there when the butterfly visited, and the butterfly was zipping about when I took the shots of the caterpillars.

Been a while since I posted, in fact been a while since I took very many interesting photos - getting back into the swing of it now that spring is turning to summer in Central Florida.

Glad you're getting back into the swing. These are really nice. The 100mm macro is one of my favorite lenses.

Thanks for the kind words.

I took a few more shots last night and today, definitely getting back into the groove of grabbing the camera whenever something looks interesting. I may post a few of them in appropriate threads...
