The cars were awesome, great sound and great action on the track. Our seats are in Turn 15 but we spent some time watching them jump those curbs over around turns 4,5,6 which was great. The Red Bull guys did dominate (gee, sounds like F1 to me) but I was rooting for David - er, I mean Fabian - Coulthard.
Loved the open paddock (like Grand Am, unlike MotoGP). We skipped the PSL pitwalk because it was too late and we were too hot and tired.
I did like the shortened track. From T15 we could see everything from T3 through T16 and then just catch the rest on the video. It was nice that they kept the total number of turns the same (20) and made that new cut-through area more than just a straight line.
The support races were fantastic! Remember the name "Madison Snow". This 17 year old kid drove a Porsche GT3 Cup car like he stole it - the race was pretty much over after the first lap. I think by lap 14 he was already lapping other drivers. The other Pirelli TC races were cool too - a 15 year old kid (Ernie Francis Jr) won spec B.
The only issue I have is the weather. Sure it was abnormally hot for May, but we have about a 50/50 chance of blistering heat this time of year so hopefully next year the race will be scheduled a bit earlier in the season.
Parking was great (they are starting to pave lot F) and traffic flowed smoothly.
