hello all, about two months ago i got a TC-80N3 so i could do time laps, and use the interval timer function on my 7d,i can't seem to make this remote timer work at all! it will change mods, but will not count down and the little clock will not start blinking, only thing it will do,is release the shutter one frame at a time, and lock it open! its like having a manual remote with out the timer,i was wondering if any one could help me! oh,yes its a gray market canon one, would this have any thing to do with it! thanks

Make sure you aren't using the remote in conjunction with your camera's self timer. It will interfere with your remote's timer function.

Hit the start/stop button to start whatever you have programed. The shutter release button is just that, it doesn't matter what settings you have it's just a shutter release.

You say it locks the shutter open? Make sure you don't have the camera set to bulb (B) mode.
