It's a pretty well attended event here every year and I've toyed with the idea of setting up a booth and selling a lot of my local scenic shots.

Is there a 'rule of thumb' on pricing...like doubling your cost? i.e. if you pay $15.00 for a mounted 11x14...would you sell it for $30.00? Or more?

I put a pencil to all that I've put in to this so far and realizing for the time I've spent getting ready for this...that if I sell out of my inventory...it won't be the biggest payday I've ever had...so are there other advantages to taking part in something like this? Like exposure...getting your name out there etc?

No doubt a learning experience is coming my way on this one.

I use Canon gear...have several bodies and lenses and am quite pleased with them.

I've done a couple, was fun meeting people and talking to them. Like you, didn't really get a great payday for the effort. It depends on the clientele really, if it's just a 'city fest' or local town event aimed at getting people in the community out and about, you haven't go the target audience so price won't equate to your value. Those are the events I did, I had prints matted or in black frames, prints didnt sell just by themselves.

Have fun
