I thought that I would have a try using the new upright tool in the LR5 Beta. Has anyone actually used it? I have two images that I have tried it on that have very defined horizons, and it refuses to do anything for me. I have tried a few other shots but thought that I would at least try to start with something pretty simple.

I tried it once and everything went off to a 45 degree angle.

Well at least it did SOMETHING! So far I have been unable to get it to do anything for me.

So it will work for some then. I tried both of the above images after trying some with much less obvious horizons, and have yet to have it do anything other than not find anything to align to. I guess you must know the secret Adobe handshake or something :)

The way I understand it the new upright tool works with vertical information, so it wouldn't work with just horizons.

I could be completely wrong on this, so please feel free to prove me wrong! :)

EDIT: Apparently they're still working out the bugs on this one.

I thought it could work on either, so that you did not have to rely on one or the other. I have to say that I usually prefer to use verticals for setting "upright" in images, because you don't tend to to suffer with them receding in the way horizontals can.

Just edited my last post, it's a known issue and they're working on it. I guess that's why it's a beta. :)
