The way I have the ends of the hand strap tucked away make it a pain to undo. I do have other lighter tripod plates if I need to travel light. I'm just too lazy to swap them. gordon

I like the way the camera rests on a table, especially with a long lens with a tripod ring. I have no problem with the weight, size, or feel of the bracket. I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Depending on what I want from the shot, I may or may not use an RRS bracket-mounted 580EXII, hence the L bracket. "Never tell people how to do things. airbutchie Not too crunchy More info | May 14, 2013 14:53 | #37 100% always mounted... It's a rarity that it'll come off... Probably just to clean (inbetween the camera and L-bracket) when I want to, but for the most part it doesn't come off my camera body... Hi. My name is Butch...

RPCrowe Cream of the Crop More info | I leave them on my pair of cameras. I use a monopod or a tripod for a lot of my shooting and my monopod has an Arca Compatible quick release as does my tripod. See my images at http://rpcrowe.smugmug.com/

Phoenixkh a mere speck More info | May 14, 2013 22:29 | #39 I just switched to the Arca-Swiss compatible quick release design. I couldn't be happier. I was able to get a one piece L bracket from Kirk for my 60D with grip and I also leave it on all the time. I'm still a bit giddy over my RRS purchase with all the Kirk plates, etc. Kim (the male variety) Canon 1DX2 | 1D IV | 16-35 f/4 IS | 24-105 f/4 IS | 100L IS macro | 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II | 100-400Lii | 50 f/1.8 STM | Canon 1.4X III

Jan 29, 2014 11:29 | #44 I use to take it off when I didn't need it. After taking it off and putting it back on a few times it stripped my tripod mount on my 1D MK II. Since then I leave it on and it stays on. Chris
