My first post on here.. so hello everyone!

I recently tried a CIS for my Canon IP8500 (which is over 1 yr old - so not worried about warranty) and I did not like the banding that I was getting. I purchased a new printhead and still banding. Went back to Canon Inks and everything is OK with the exception of very LIGHT banding when the printer first begins to print on Kirkland Glossy paper only.

I know many may say, then don't use the paper, but I am curious why this is happening all of a sudden with a new printhead. I also ask since many use this paper with great success.

Any idea?? am I missing something?? Could it be a logic board malfunctioning? Could it be paper not being fed properly initially? I LOVE my Canon printouts.. and will probably replace with i9900. I have not seen much if any fading with prints around my home.

Thoughts?? Comments.. idea?

Thank you,
David

Don't have this printer, but most printers have head alignment routine in the maintenance section of the driver. Might give that a try, especially considering you've just installed a new print head. Sometimes those CIS systems get an air bubble in an ink feed line. Might check that also.

Color? It's all relative...
