This is a pic I took of Sydney Tower through the trees, then just changed some colour settings and gave it glowing edges, I just like it for some reason.

Is this tower big? Is it four stories at the top or are those small windows? You have any shots from the top?

This is Centre Point Tower in Sydney and it's the tallest structure in Sydney I think.

Anna I much prefer the original. It's a very nice photo.

Yes, four stories at the top. The tower is just under 1000 feet tall IIRC and actual name is Centerpoint tower. This was tallest building in the southern hemisphere when it was built in 1980 (again IIRC).

The latest tourist attraction is to go out on a glass floored viewing platform at the top of those four stories (you can just see the platform where the leaves touch the tower on the left)

The original is very good. I'm not much for the special filters, it's just me.

I didn't bother going up the tower this time I was in Sydney, they charge so much now and you have to watch a movie first and the minimum charge to get up there is about $35, rediculous if you're an Aussie and not interested in watching a boring Aussie outback video!

Nice shot, similar to some of the shots I got of the Sky Tower in Aukland.

Nice shot with the original Ana, I took a shot from a different angle last year, it's an imposing tower.

100% agree with you Anna. Sydney is a rip off for your typical Aussie. Sydney is only good for tourists who'll spend anything.

Sorry to those Sydney siders but it's a fact.

I have some shots from the top , I'll post tomorrow.
I used to do a bit of work up there.
I climbed up the spike (inside it) on the top once , but ran out of courage to open the door and look out.

Not the best pic - taken about 1997?
Looking East down Sydney Harbour.
I was wandering around by myself (I thought) and was a bit startled to come across this.
That bloke is cleaning the rust of one of the sculptures they fitted to the top of the tower for the Olympic Games.

Oh Yeah , that WOULD BE a straight drop - for him , there is no hidden platform underneath him.

Those look like the biggest ever White Cannon lenses ever made.
Looks like a 10,000mm F/1.0..

BTW. What were you doing 'wandering' about on top pf Centrepoint??

I am afraid of heights , but I had a solid railing in front of me.
I was scared just watching him.

I can't upload to this forum at the moment?
So here's a link:

That's the top of Australia Square on bottom left.
Looking back at Centrepoint ( or AMP ) Tower , you can see a small white band above the Gold "basket" of the tower. That's where I was. The 3 sculptures were not there yet in this pic. (Taken from the ex Qantas building - now AAPT )

Doing some maintenance on those 10,000mm F1.0 lenses.
Due to the size of the front element , the USM tends to fail regularly

They're microwave radios for anybody who's wondering.
