This may be be a good backup card for 5DM3.
It's Sd slot is not super speed so I think the Ultra should be adequate.

These are 30MB/s cards which record slowly at high burst speeds, but for backup they're probably fine.

Yup. This is mainly as backup. For bursts one must use CF. You can conserve CF by using the SD card for those random in-between non-action static shots. And it may serve as a backup if you run out of CF (with none in your pocket)

Doesn't the 5D3 slow down when you put an SD car into the second slot? I'll have to take the card from my S100 and try and see if it slows down the writing/burst capacity of my CF cards when it's installed.

It does more than slow down. It cripples it lol

Yeah. But you change the option where it can use that slot only after CF is full or on demand.

Like "rhdman" said you just set it to use the CF until it's full then spill over to the SD and that issue goes away. As a matter of fact I've never really come close to filling a 32gb card in one shoot (~900+ RAW's). I have two 32GB CF's so I'd just swap out the CF if I ever did fill one. For me the SD is just there as a fail-safe in case the CF (cards or system) craps out in the middle of a shoot.

This non-issue has been hashed out already in numerous 5D MkIII threads, here and elsewhere, and it always seems to eventually boil down to the words of Shakespeare... "much ado about nothing..."
