Hi I don't post here often as I mostly shoot people but I am in Florida and shooting birds and can't seem to figure out what type of hawk this is. I think it is a Sharpshin Hawk maybe?

Red-shouldered Hawk (you can actually see a hint of red feathers on it's upper shoulders hence the name). Moorhen (related to the Coot), female Red-winged Blackbird. Excellent series.

Thank you for the id's I had a field guide but it was not as helpful as I would hope. It was fun shooting them and I look forward to shooting more tomorrow.

I think moorhens used to be called common gallinules and are now called that again. I think those guys at the AOU do this on purpose just to mess with us.

Beautiful portrait of the Red-shouldered in your 1st capture Sam.
Duane is right that this particular raptor wears it's name on it's shoulder.....literally​!

Thanks for the comments and encouragement. Florida is an amazing birding location I saw an Osprey on a way to a meeting this morning but alas no camera as I didn't want to leave it in the car while I my meeting.
