Caught the white head in the corner of my eye while driving the Alaska Highway last week.
Turned the car around, saw it was a bald eagle, then noted it had a fresh lunch.

It was quite patient with me!

Nice catch! I rarely see them with such a meal. I know a spot that is crawling with rabbits and a good number of resident eagles and have never understood how carefree the rabbits seems to be.

Possibly a red squirrel. It doesn't have the white/black markings on the face of a chipmunk. Both are common in this area though. My avatar is a local red squirrel.

Initially I was a couple of hundred feet away. After taking a few shots, I moved closer in my car for more shots. Then closer again. And then again. Eventually I was almost at the gate. As long as I stayed in my car the eagle remained calm. I slowly opened my door once and it became agitated. So I closed the door and continued to shoot through the open window.

Started shooting with the 100-400mm at 400mm and close-up was shooting around 125mm.
Wish the day hadn't been so overcast BUT happy with the shots. Bald eagles aren't common in this area. However, golden eagles are common.
